She received her Degree in Physiotherapy from Thessaloniki Technical Vocational Institute (TEI) in 1985 and completed her postgraduate studies in “Physical Activity for Special Population Groups” at AUTh (MSc, 2005). Since 1994 she has been teaching at Alexandreion Thessaloniki Technical Vocational Institute (ATEI). Currently she is a PhD candidate at AUTh Medical School, her thesis being on the role of the pelvic floor in urine continence. In 2002 she completed her postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom (University of East London) and was the first Greek physiotherapist specialising in rehabilitation of the pelvic floor (pelvic floor physiotherapist – continence advisor). She has trained in various techniques, such as Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy (IMTT), Pilates, manual therapy (Kaltenbom – Evienth), the Mulligan method, craniosacral therapy, the Alexander technique, P.N.F, and the McKenzie and Bobath techniques. She has published articles in Greek (5) and international (4) journals, while she is often a speaker on issues concerning continence and pelvic floor conditions. Since 2002 she has been a scientific consultant to the Centre for Sexual and Reproductive Health (KESAY) and since 2005 she has also been a scientific consultant to the Research Centre on Continence and Pelvic Floor Conditions (KEPPE) of the Institute for the Study of Urological Diseases (ISUD).
