He studied Medicine at the University of Ioannina and completed his residency at the 2nd Urology Clinic of the University of Athens, where he also received his PhD. He completed his further education in Laparoscopic Urology and Endourology of the Upper Urinary System at the University Urologic Clinic of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the United Kingdom. Upon returning to Greece, he was appointed Lecturer of Urology and later became Assistant Professor at the University of Athens, where he is currently employed. His research work concerns Oncology of the Urinary-Reproductive system, Calculus of the Urinary System, Benign Hyperplasia of the Prostate, Endourology and Laparoscopic Urology. He has published articles in Urology journals with the highest impact factor. He is a member of the Editorial Board of 'Greek Urology' and a reviewer for numerous International Journals. For his overall research work, he was nominated by the Hellenic Urological Association in 2005 as the most suitable candidate among Greek Urologists under the age of 40 for the 'C. Matula' Prize of EAU. Mr. Skolarikos received his FEBU title in 2001, achieving the highest grade in Europe. He is an official member of the group designing Clinical Guidelines on Calculus of the World Health Organisation and of the European Association of Urology (EAU). He is also an organising member of the EAU Section of Uro-Technology (ESUT), which focuses on Endourology and Laparoscopic Urology. Since 2011, he has served as President of the Endourology Department of ESUT.
